FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

City of Fort Pierce Partners with Florida Rural Legal Services for First Time Homebuyer Workshop
The City of Fort Pierce Grants Administration Division is partnering with Florida Rural Legal Services to present Housing Workshops and continue the Rapid Rehousing Program. The second Housing Workshop will be held on Thursday, September 15th at the River Walk Center (6oo N. Indian River Drive) at 5:30 pm. The workshop is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

This workshop will provide resources for those that are interested in purchasing a home. Realtors and mortgage lenders will be available on-site to ask questions. This workshop is designed for those that are planning to purchase a home in the future and would like to connect to professionals in the field to ask questions.

The City of Fort Pierce recognizes the need for rapid rehousing, community education, and outreach on eviction prevention, including knowledge of the home buying process and comprehensive legal services. Every month, housing workshops will be tailored to a specific topic and will feature helpful information, training, and opportunities to speak to specialists in the field.

The dates for the 2022 Housing Workshops are as follows:
Thursday, September 15, 2022,  at 5:30 pm – First Time Homebuyer Workshop
Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 5:30 pm – Senior Housing Workshop
Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 5:30 pm – Affordable Housing Workshop
Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 5:30 pm – Housing Fair/Resources

FRLS is certain that our efforts to collaborate with valued partners and funders to bridge the gap in access to free civil legal services will fill the services needed most during these critical times.
