City of Fort Pierce Promotes Flood Awareness Week

The City of Fort Pierce will be joining a statewide effort to help educate residents about the importance of flood risks and the benefits of flood insurance during 'Florida Flood Awareness Week,' from March 7
th through March 11th, 2022.  During flood week, residents can learn about different flood-related topics featured daily on the City's social media pages or by visiting the City's website: www.cityoffortpierce.com

Flooding is the most common and costly natural disaster that occurs throughout the United States. Spring and Summer bring seasonal storms to our area that cause significant amounts of flooding and damage to homeowners’ property each year. The City of Fort Pierce’s Building Department encourages its residents to become “FLOOD READY.”

“Flood Ready” is about being prepared and knowing the risks associated with flooding. Have a plan in place in case of a storm, flood, or disaster! have emergency kits ready to go and get flood insurance to protect your home! Know the flood risks in your area by educating yourself and your family during ‘Flood Awareness Week.’ These vital steps can minimize personal and financial loss and help you become “Flood Ready.”
