The City of Fort Pierce is continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Eta and the potential impact. Residents should take necessary precautions as parts of the Treasure Coast are now under a Tropical Storm Warning. It is important to NOT focus on the exact track of Eta. Impacts will extend well beyond the cone away from the center.
Conditions
Tropical-storm-force winds will likely begin Sunday evening across the Keys and South Florida, then along the West Coast on Monday. Sustained winds of 55-75 mph with gusts of 75-85 mph will be possible in the Keys and coastal parts of South Florida.
Saturated soils make trees and power lines more susceptible to wind damage. 7-day rainfall totals could approach a widespread 6-12” with localized totals of 15” + in South Florida and the Keys. Northward to the I-4 corridor, rainfall totals of 2-4” with localized totals of 6-8” are possible. Flood Watches are in effect for all South Florida, the Treasure Coast, and Okeechobee County.
Residents should stay alert to forecast changes by reliable sources. Emergency Response Teams from Public Works are currently ensuring that the stormwater systems are free of obstructions and operating at full capacity.
As of 2 PM, here are the latest updates:

Solid Waste Collection
We are asking residents to please refrain from cutting down vegetation or doing major projects until the system passes. Residents should not place any additional debris at the curb as it may block surface stormwater flow.
