The Fort Pierce City Commission is seeking individuals to serve on the newly formed 2020 Census Complete Count Committee. The Committee was established as an effort to insure the most accurate census count within the City of Fort Pierce through community awareness to motivate residents to respond to the 2020 Census to insure proper funding for the City. The Committee will take a “grassroots” approach, working with community-based organizations and groups who have direct contact with households who may be hard to count. They will assist with special events such as Census Day “Be Counted” parades and/or “Census Day/Night” Street Festival in an effort to build awareness of the census and its benefits and motivate response through social media, newsletters, and other communications.
Eligible individuals will be residents of the City. The Mayor and each Commissioner will appoint one eligible applicant and four members shall be appointed at large for a total of 9 committee members.
All committee activities will conclude on or before July 31, 2020.
