About Lincoln Park Avenue D District
The historic Avenue D Business District is along Avenue D, west of 7th street to 15th street was once a thriving economic center for the African-American citizens. Shops, salons and markets lined the street and created an abundance of activity from residents who lived in the immediate vicinity and beyond. However, for some time now, the area between U.S. Hwy 1 and 25th Street has been in need of revitalization.
City of Fort Pierce staff are working on several different ideas for the district but want to be sure that the city’s vision is aligned with the community’s vision. At the community meeting, there will be an opportunity to learn about what the city has planned for the district and for the community to provide input and brainstorm new ideas.
