PIERCE – At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2018, Fort Pierce
Police Department arrested Rodney Ellis, 23, of Fort Pierce in connection with
the death of Jeremy Wilson, 24, of Fort Pierce.
Fort
Pierce Police Officers worked tirelessly since the incident occurred early
Saturday morning to solve this case. With help from the community, detectives
were able to identify, locate and arrest Ellis in less than two days.
Ellis
was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. He has been charged with First
Degree Murder with Firearm and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon. He has
no bond.
Details – The Fort Pierce Police Department responded at approximately 3:20 a.m. Saturday to the 1100 block of Avenue D in reference to shooting activity.
A victim,
Jeremy Wilson, 24, of Fort Pierce, was wounded. He was driven to a
local hospital by a bystander where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The
case remains under investigation.
