[ARCHIVED] City of Fort Pierce Commissioners Seek Applications for City Boards

The Fort Pierce City Commission is seeking civic-minded Fort Pierce residents and/or business owners to serve on various advisory boards and committees.  

Fort Pierce Communitywide Council
In order to meet the Council makeup as established by the Mayor and City Commission, the Fort Pierce Communitywide Council is seeking a new Council member from the low to moderate income level from CDBG target area, a resident of federally assisted housing, a representative of community organizations, or otherwise eligible to participate in CDBG program.   The Communitywide Council responsibilities include the review of the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Annual Action Plan, economic development business loan applications, non-profit organizations' request for funding applications, and proposed projects for recommendations to staff and City Commission.

Fort Pierce Authentic Tours (FPAT)
The Fort Pierce Authentic Tours (FPAT) Advisory Board is an economic development initiative of the city to build capacity and sustainability for local businesses involved or related to the eco/agri/nature tourism industry.  Board Members must be business owners located within or focused on assets centered around the City with a membership to FPAT.

CRA Advisory Committee
The purpose and function of the CRA Advisory Committee is to study, review and provide recommendations, guidance and advice as to matters relevant to the purposes and goals of the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency; and to serve as a liaison between the community within the Fort Pierce Redevelopment District Boundaries and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency Board.   The FPRA Board is seeking applications to serve on this advisory committee.

Arts and Culture Advisory Board
The Arts and Culture Advisory Board is a new board whose responsibilities include conducting public meetings and presentations, assessing the community’s needs, resources and support for artists and arts initiatives then generate a 10-Year Arts and Culture Strategic Plan, based on the City’s Arts and Culture Master Plan, for review and approval by the City Commission.  The Board will also advise the City Commission on matters pertaining to Arts and Culture and Art in Public Places (AIPP) projects and ensure that Arts and Culture are a civic priority. The Board will promote outreach and involvement of the community, collaborate with other governmental agencies, volunteer organizations, etc. in the advancement of Arts and Culture planning and programming, and recommend and support financing alternatives and resources for Arts and Culture.  All Members of the Arts and Culture Advisory Board shall have their primary place of residence within the boundaries of the City of Fort Pierce.
