[ARCHIVED] City of FP to Host Artist Recognition to Unveil Peacock Arts District Beautification Project

Peacock Arts District Artist Recognition Invitation

Join the City of Fort Pierce on Tuesday, October 24 at 4:00 PM as we unveil the first beautification project in the Peacock Arts District and show appreciation to the artists who made it happen! The ceremony will take place outside at the corner of South 7th Street and Orange Avenue.

The Painted Pot Program is the first beautification project to be completed in the Peacock Arts District in partnership with Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, Fort Pierce Lions Club and many local artists. Fifteen terracotta pots were purchased by the City to line Orange Avenue with Southern Red Cedars which will infuse color and life into the corridor. To take it one step further, over a dozen local artists painted each individual pot with vibrant colors that capture the reinvigorated feeling of the district. Please join the City of Fort Pierce as we honor these artists who donated their time, talent and materials to help beautify Fort Pierce.

Located west of US 1, along Orange Avenue, the Peacock Arts District or “The PAD”concept was generated by the community during a public meeting and the area is now being branded and with its own unique identity and culture. Many beautification projects are currently underway including enhanced lighting, street pole banners and more.
