The City of Fort Pierce will be joining cities across the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week on Monday, October 30, 2017. This year’s theme celebrates “what makes our city great.” While there are many reasons why Fort Pierce is a great place to live, work and play, it is apparent that our history is one of our greatest treasures.
The City of Fort Pierce will observe City Government Week and honor our local history by hosting a Historic Scavenger Hunt on Monday, October 30, 2017 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. This Scavenger Hunt will give residents, visitors, families and friends an opportunity to uncover clues that will lead them around the city to learn about Fort Pierce’s heritage. At each stop, participants will interact with city employees who will cheer them on their quest to discover the hidden message.
All participants who unveil the hidden message will receive a prize and will be entered to win the grand prize. Businesses wishing to contribute to the prizes, may contact the City Manager’s Office at 772.465.4170 or citymanagersoffice@city-ftpierce.com.
Registration for the Scavenger Hunt is required and can be done as a group or individually online at www.LoveFortPierce.com. For your convenience, there are three time slots available: 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Costumes are not required, but in the spirit of the season, tasteful costumes are welcome.
Whether you’re a history buff or someone that enjoys puzzles, you won’t want to miss out as we share some of our town’s unique history with you! Register today: www.LoveFortPierce.com.
Florida City Government Week is typically held the week of October 23; however, since the famed Ghost Walk Tours hosted by Main Street Fort Pierce happens during that week, we rescheduled the Scavenger Hunt to give residents a chance to enjoy it all!
Note: The Scavenger Hunt begins at Marina Square (1 Avenue A). Participants will need to drive to some of the locations.
