What is red, white and blue and just in time for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend? The Sunrise Theatre and Main Street Fort Pierce present the 40 piece Air National Guard Band of the South and they are coming to Fort Pierce for two performances.

On Sunday, July 2 at 3pm, the Air National Guard Band of the South will perform a free show at the historic Sunrise Theatre located in downtown Fort Pierce. What a great way to cool off from the summer heat at the 1200-seat Sunrise Theatre while listening to patriotic and popular tunes pre-fourth. Tickets are limited to four per person and must be picked up at the Sunrise Theatre Box Office Monday – Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Then on Tuesday, July 4 beginning at 6pm, the Band will perform at the ever popular Stars Over St. Lucie community event at the Fort Pierce City Marina Square ending with the traditional fireworks over the Indian River at 9pm. Both events are free to the public.

The Air National Guard Band of the South supports the total Air Force and Air National Guard mission in war and peace by inspiring patriotism and fostering a deep appreciation of the rich history and legacy of the Air Force. This is accomplished, mainly, through professional performances by some of the nation’s best musicians. Their mission is to enhance and lift the morale and spirit de corps of our fellow Airmen stationed either in the United States or abroad and to increase the public’s understanding of the importance of air power, the missions and programs of the Air Force and Air National Guard and the bravery, sacrifice and dedication of Airmen across the globe.

While performing these missions, members of the Band of the South have performed in almost every state in the union as well as being deployed to Germany, Kandahar, Afghanistan and more. The Air National Guard Band of the South is stationed at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Sponsors of the event are: The City of Fort Pierce, Applebee’s of Fort Pierce, Bluewater Beach Grill, Cobb’s Landing & the Original Tiki Bar, Fort Pierce Utility Authority, Fort Pierce Yacht Club, Seminole Brighton Casino, Southern Eagle Distributing & the Sunrise Theatre Foundation.
