The City of Fort Pierce has heard the request of residents loud and clear and is excited to announce the expansion of the residential recycling program to multi-family communities. Beginning in February 2017, eligible condominium and apartment complexes, along with townhomes, will be offered this recycling service.

"Multi-family residents have asked for recycling and we are delivering. We will build on the success of the DoMoreBlue single stream recycling program and make Fort Pierce even cleaner and greener than before," said Tysha Williams, Solid Waste Operations Manager.

Condominium and apartment complexes that currently use 96, 300-gallon trash containers or dumpsters serviced by the City of Fort Pierce can participate in the expanded recycling program. The complexes must have enough room to store the 96-gallon recycling carts for weekly recycling collections in order to be eligible.

We know that Fort Pierce residents are eager to do their part to improve the community and this is the next step in creating a more sustainable future for our City.
