The City of Fort Pierce and Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Board are excited to invite residents, visitors, business owners, and organizations to take part in the 2025 Great American Cleanup, an annual event dedicated to preserving the beauty and cleanliness of our city. This year's cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 8:00 AM to Noon.
Participants will have the opportunity to join fellow community members in a variety of beautification projects across Fort Pierce, including:
- South Beach Park – Mulch, planting, and litter removal
- South Causeway Beach – Litter removal
- Moore’s Creek Linear Park – Litter removal
- Jetty Park – Mulch, planting, and litter removal
- Orange Avenue – Litter removal
- U.S. Highway 1 – Litter removal
- Avenue D – Litter removal
- Pick Your Own Location – Volunteers may choose another area to clean up
The event will kick off at the Manatee Center Parking Lot, located at 480 N. Indian River Drive, at 8:00 AM. Volunteers will be provided with a complimentary breakfast to energize them for the day ahead. Additionally, t-shirts, safety gear, and goody bags will be distributed while supplies last. Teams will then be formed, and necessary supplies provided to ensure everyone is well-equipped for their designated projects.
For those who prefer to pick up supplies in advance, arrangements can be made to collect them at the Public Works Compound, located at 52 Savannah Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34982:
- Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 12 PM TO 4 PM (Public Works Compound)
- Friday, March 7, 2025, from 8 AM TO 3 PM (Public Works Compound)
- Day of Event at the Manatee Center - Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 8 AM
Beyond just cleaning up, the Great American Cleanup offers a valuable opportunity for students to earn community service hours required for scholarships and graduation. It also encourages group participation, making it an ideal event for families, businesses, civic organizations, sports teams, schools, churches, and other groups to come together and give back to the community.
In conjunction with the cleanup efforts, Fort Pierce will also be celebrating Arbor Day on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 AM at Glidden Park, 911 Parkway Dr., Fort Pierce. The city will commemorate the occasion with a special tree dedication ceremony. Refreshments will be provided by the Fort Pierce Garden Club.
This dedication underscores the City of Fort Pierce's ongoing commitment to sustainable urban forestry, a commitment recognized with the Tree City USA designation for thirty-six consecutive years by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
