RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING COLLECTION

The City of Fort Pierce Solid Waste Division is the exclusive recycling collection service provider for single-family homes, duplexes, and multi-family properties. The city does not offer commercial recycling. Commercial businesses may elect service from a private solid waste hauler.

RECYCLING PROGRAM

Let's recycle right! Every household is provided with a blue recycling cart. Recyclable items should be placed loose (unbagged) in your blue recycling cart. Keep recyclables empty, clean, loose, and dry...most importantly, free of garbage.

Recycle pickup is performed once per week. Because this is an automated route, please remove staples, paper clips, etc. from paper products. Labels do not need to be removed from bottles and jars. Rinse food containers and remove metal lids from glass jars and recycle both.

Proper Cart Usage

  • Place all recyclables inside the cart.
  • Do not put recyclables in plastic bags!
  • Flatten and place cardboard inside the cart.
  • Set the cart out by 7 a.m. on your service day.
  • Position the cart with the handle and wheels facing your house.
  • Leave 5 feet of clearance on all sides.

EMPTY. CLEAN. LOOSE. DRY.  When in doubt, throw it out! Recycling Reference Card
