Arnold S. Gaines, District 1
Biography
Arnold S. Gaines was born and raised in the City of Fort Pierce. Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Howard University, his Master of Science from Barry University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. He is the proud father of three amazing children, Kiara, Nyree, and Aiden. Arnold is honored to continue his family’s long history of community service. His father, Samuel S. Gaines, served as an elected school board member for 34 years. His mother, Theresa D. Gaines, was an educator for 44 years in the St. Lucie County school system. His family, through Stone Brothers Funeral Home, has continually served Fort Pierce and the tri-county area of Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties since 1932. Arnold is an accomplished attorney and active softball coach with Northside Bat and Ball Club. He serves on the Area Agency on Aging Palm Beach/Treasure Coast, is an active Life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and currently serves as the 7th District Counselor, is active with MWUGL-FL, and the NAACP. He is currently a member of Christ Fellowship – Port St. Lucie Campus but remains loyal to the church he grew up in, St. Paul AME Church in Fort Pierce. He is currently serving on the Treasure Coast Council of Local Governments, Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Lincoln Park Main Street, St. Lucie County Homeless Task Force, and the Treasure Coast Education, Research & Development Authority. Arnold S. Gaines was elected as a Fort Pierce City Commissioner, District 1, and took office on January 3, 2022.
Office Hours:
Commissioner Arnold S. Gaines, Jr. holds office hours on Wednesdays, 10 am to 1 pm at Fort Pierce City Hall, 100 N US 1. Additionally, he holds evening hours on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Main Street Office, Means Court Center, 532 North 13th Street.
