April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Glidden Park
Why do we love our plants? The presence of plants makes us feel “at home.” We have an attachment to the leafy friends we have watched grow from seedlings to mature plants.
In addition, the greenery of our gardens and indoor plants can create a peaceful setting, or for some, a canvas for creative expression with living colors and textures. There is also that excitement of bringing home the newbies we found at a great plant sale.
Lucky for you, plant lover! Every April, the Garden Club of Fort Pierce offers an opportunity to buy from plant societies who gather for a day in Glidden Park, a Fort Pierce gem of shade and green space, at 911 Parkway Drive.
The Plants in the Park sale features locally grown violets, orchids, tropicals, landscape bromeliads, plus helpful information booths staffed by horticultural and environmental groups.
There is no place like home! So bring home a plant for yourself, a friend or neighbor or maybe one for Mother’s Day.
April 29, 2017, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Oxbow Eco-Center
Join your friends and neighbors in a celebration of all that wildlife and wild lands offer us -- beauty, inspiration, vital resources, and a sense of belonging to a community. This year, the Oxbow’s Earth Day Festival will be bigger and better than ever.
Drum Roll Please
Our line-up includes local artist Ben and John Prestage, live raptors and reptiles, and dozens of interactive exhibitors. Because Earth Day is as much about the human community as it is the wild community, we are expanding our exhibitors to not only include conservation organizations and nature centers, but also healthy living and community resource organizations here in St. Lucie County.
For the kids (or young at heart) there will be storytelling sessions, face painting, an eco-challenge and a butterfly scavenger hunt.
