City of Fort Pierce Commissioners Seek Applications for Arts and Culture Advisory Board

The Fort Pierce City Commission recently approved Resolution #17-R22, approving the creation of the Arts and Culture Advisory Board.


Responsibilities of the Board include conducting public meetings and presentations, assessing the community’s needs, resources and support for artists and arts initiatives then generate a 10-Year Arts and Culture Strategic Plan, based on the City’s Arts and Culture Master Plan, for review and approval by the City Commission.


The Board will also advise the City Commission on matters pertaining to Arts and Culture and Art in Public Places (AIPP) projects and ensure that Arts and Culture are a civic priority. The Board will promote outreach and involvement of the community, collaborate with other governmental agencies, volunteer organizations, etc. in the advancement of Arts and Culture planning and programming, and recommend and support financing alternatives and resources for Arts and Culture.


The Arts and Culture Advisory Board shall consist of seven (7) members. One Board appointment will be made by each Commissioner and two (2) by the Board. The City Commission will approve all members. All Members of the Arts and Culture Advisory Board shall have their primary place of residence within the boundaries of the City of Fort Pierce.
