Code Enforcement Board consists of 7 members and 1 alternate who each serve a 3 year term. The board is responsible for determining if an individual has violated the city's Code of Ordinances and, if necessary, imposing appropriate penalties in accordance with state statutes.
Board members are required to be impartial hearing officers and must comply with all Sunshine Laws. If possible, candidates should be an architect, a businessman / businesswoman, general contractor or subcontractor or a realtor however, the best qualification is a willingness to serve the community and uphold the city's ordinances as they are adopted.
